When they day ends and the night begins, a truly magical scene emerges in in Jerusalem’s Maḥane Yehuda Market— “the Shuk”.
As the shouts of the merchants slowly fade away and the food stalls’ shutters come down, the unique graffiti paintings that define the Shuk are suddenly revealed.
The whole setting changes instantly. The food stalls are replaced by unique restaurants and trendy bars, and the merchants’ shouts of “Tomato! 4 Shekels!” are replaced by shouts of “Cheers” and “L’chaim.”

During the tour, we will have the opportunity to stop and taste an extensive variety of foods from some of the most interesting stands in the market. We will get to hear some of the fascinating and fun stories that have become a part of the unique history of the Maḥane Yehuda community from the merchants themselves.
Some of the best tasting items along the way include spices, traditional baked goods, Jerusalem-style tahini and halva, health drinks, natural healing products, famous Jerusalem rugelach, and authentic Jerusalem hummus.
The tour will also include a short excursion to the nearby Naḥlaot neighborhood, where we will hear the unique story of the area while Pausing for a short break by the famous and still fruit-bearing mulberry tree mentioned in a song by Israeli musician Yossi Banai.
